The children (4 to 6 years) loved it.  Everybody wanted their name as the Little Hero in the story!
The kids were very quiet during the 'serious' parts and laughed during the rhyming parts. Some words needed to be explained to them, but this helps their language development.

A really lovely ‘universal’ story that would be enjoyed by children of all cultures! The vocabulary is good – a mixture of new words for extension - and words that most 5 to 7 year olds can relate to.  The children love the little rhyming ‘verses’.

My son (7) absolutely loves his book! He's read it three days straight, even using it to look up the spelling for writing out his birthday wish list.
Personalized books are a great idea, especially for black kids, as most literature and cartoons available always portray the hero as white.

First class! It will be inspirational to the children who receive them.  The repetition of words is good, the vocabulary and the use of difficult and unusual words, challenging and the core themes worthy.  It deserves a place on a bookshelf or school library!
