I am saving my son's books for a special event BUT I received them yesterday and I am SO impressed. They are lovely, the price was great. I am thrilled and can't wait to share them with my son. I got him three of the stories and am trying to decide if I'll wait for Christmas or give them separately to reward good behavior. Probably the latter so I don't have to wait as long to read them to him!
Just wanted to say that my son (3) LOVES this book. My hubby reads it most nights, and he 'reads' it himself most mornings when he wakes early.
I can't wait to give this to my best friend either for Mother Day's or for her son's birthday. Not only is she a French teacher, but a softball coach as well! Thanks again for such a quick response and for such an amazing site and present!!
I bought my son this book right around the time the World Cup was on and he loved it. He'd pretend he was winning the World Cup and run around the house scoring goals. It was sooooo funny.
Ha, what a great book! I loooved Robin Hood growing up and now my son loves it too! He loves the squirrel who is part of the band of Merry Men. Too funny!
What a fantastic story! My boy's eyes lit up when he saw himself wearing the Red of Manchester United. He can't put the book down.
The book is beautiful and is a firm favourite with our son! He loved the little dedication and his photo at the front of the book, not to mention being in all the illustrations!
My son loves his Homerun Cookie and Obnoxious Dragon books! They are the only books he asks to be read to him. Being the hero makes all the difference!
My son absolutely loves his book! He's read it three days straight, even using it to look up the spelling for writing out his birthday wish list.
Personalized books are a great idea, especially for black kids, as most literature and cartoons available always portray the hero as white.
A fun adventure! This book can be read to 3-7 year olds. Older children, 8-9 year olds, will enjoy them as they can start to read themselves. The vocals will challenge and extend them once they learn the “new” words.
Inspirational to the lucky children who receive them! The repetition of words is good, the vocabulary and the use of difficult and unusual words, challenging and the core theme of self-belief, worthy. It deserves a place on a bookshelf or school library!
A dream birthday gift! This book can be read to 3-7 year olds. Older children, 8-9 year olds, will savour them as they can begin to read themselves. They will be challenged by some vocals and extended once they have learnt the “new” words.
First class! It will be inspirational to the children who receive them. The repetition of words is good, the vocabulary and the use of difficult and unusual words, challenging and the core themes worthy. It deserves a place on a bookshelf or school library!
A cute little story, with vocabularly that will stretch an older or more advanced reader.
If your kid plays / enjoys baseball, this book is for you. I liked the theme and punch line of “my/your belief in you.”
A really lovely ‘universal’ story that would be enjoyed by children of all cultures! The vocabulary is good – a mixture of new words for extension - and words that most 5 to 7 year olds can relate to. The children love the little rhyming ‘verses’.
Younger children will enjoy the pictures and adventures, but this story, language-wise, is more suited to an older child (7 to 10 years). The vocabulary is advanced, with some difficult words that will challenge children.
The children (4 to 6 years) loved it. Everybody wanted their name as the Little Hero in the story!
The kids were very quiet during the 'serious' parts and laughed during the rhyming parts. Some words needed to be explained to them, but this helps their language development.
Most of the children (4 to 5 years) really thought the cookies were magical! Some parts of the story had to be explained, but this was from a lack of experience in playing baseball. A definite must for older readers and sport loving children!
